- The Locality

- Rannoch is in the heart of Highland Perthshire. Perthshire has been called “Big Tree Country” and there are still remnants of the ancient Caledonian Forest, which once covered most of Scotland, in the Black Wood. The Black Wood is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. It is a nature lover’s paradise with birch, rowan, heather and blaeberries and those magnificent ‘granny’ pines. It is home to deer, crossbills, capercaillie and pine martin and many species of woodland birds. Red squirrels come down to the bird table and deer are often seen in the early morning.
- The village of Kinloch Rannoch is just over 5 miles away. It has general store, hairdresser, post-office, petrol, café with internet, and 2 hotels.
